2025 Outlook:
The Navigators are primed for another championship run in 2025. With Georgia Moon and Parker Fox both returning as juniors after strong seasons, Falmouth has an elite 1-2 punch that can compete with anyone in the state. They have also brought sophomore Emory Westburg into the mix, who is running cross country this year after running 11:00 for 3200m in track as just a freshman.  This young core has championship experience and should keep Falmouth at the top of Class A for years to come.

2025 Outlook:
The Wildcats have the top returning runner in the state in Zoe Carroll, and they will be hoping to have the best team in the state this year.  Beyond the frontrunner, York has incredible depth, with seniors Madelyn Hutchins and Karianna Hultstrom both capable of breaking 20:00 this year. Sophomores Nell McAllister and Emily Hutchins provide a strong young foundation that should keep this program competitive for years. This veteran-heavy lineup should be the favorite to win the Class B title.

2025 Outlook:
The Flyers return as the defending Class C champions with a strong core led by junior Paige Alexander, who has already proven she can compete with the state's best. Seniors Lucy Olson and Grace Alexander provide veteran leadership, while junior Hana Hirschkorn has upside and should continue developing. Emma Vickery should be much improved after a track season that saw her qualify individually for the state championships over 3200m.  Waynflete's track record and returning talent make them the clear favorite to repeat as Class C champions.

2025 Outlook:
Portland returns an incredibly balanced and experienced lineup from their state runner-up finish. Junior Kate Morrison leads the way and should challenge to be a top individual after a breakout track season, while the incredible depth of sub-22:00 runners gives the Bulldogs multiple scoring options. The X-factor here is incoming freshman Nora Schmidt, who has broken 18:00 for 5K on the track.  Portland’s depth, experience, and frontrunning makes the Bulldigs a serious threat to win the Class A title.

2025 Outlook:
The Falcons are led by senior Lucy Huggett, who posted the second-fastest time in the state last season and should be a strong individual title contender. Junior Ella Oshetski has already shown elite potential and forms a dangerous 1-2 punch with Huggett. Senior Lilah Hall provides veteran leadership and completes what might be the strongest top three in Class B. This combination of elite frontrunners and solid depth makes them a serious contender for both individual and team titles.

The Trojans return as the defending state champions with an incredibly young and talented roster. Sophomores Rebecca Rand, Kulani Granholm, and Marlee Catanese all showed elite potential as freshmen, giving MDI three runners who could contend for individual honors. Senior Seneca Haney provides veteran leadership to this young group. This exceptional young core should allow MDI to be in the mix to repeat as state champions.

Annabel Kimball should be much improved after running under 12:00 for 3200m this spring.  Grace Beeler and Meg Kingsley are both coming off of breakout track seasons.  With good frontrunning and the depth from an experienced junior class, Cheverus should be able to make a jump up in Class A.

The Broncos return an amazing top duo in junior Addison Elliott and senior Gretchen Plant, who often ran together and finished within seconds of each other last season. Both could be individual title contenders and give Hampden one of the strongest 1-2 punches in the state. There's a significant gap to the rest of the roster, but if one or two runners can close that gap, Hampden could surprise some teams in championship races.

This experienced group should be competitive in the tough Class B South region and if they have a frontrunner emerge, they could improve on last year’s finish.

Yarmouth's traditional strength has been their depth, and with juniors Abbey Hamilton and Eleanor Weyenberg anchoring the pack, they should remain competitive. The Clippers are probably one elite runner away from being truly competitive with the best teams in Class B.

After a disappointing 13th place regional finish last season, Gorham has the talent to bounce back significantly.  The Rams return a solid core led by seniors Zoe Dellinger and Winni Moreland, who form a strong 1-2 punch both capable of breaking 21 minutes. Sophomores Abigail McCrillis and Nara Holland showed promise as freshmen and should continue developing. If their sophomores can take the next step and their junior depth improves, the Rams could qualify for the state meet.

This young core has plenty of room for improvement and should be able to build on last year's seventh-place state finish.

If Scarborough can find consistent scoring from their 3-5 runners, they have the frontrunning talent to make a significant jump in the Class A South standings.
