Week 3 Rankings (Posted 10/2/25)
The back and forth between Yarmouth and Freeport continues, and they will race once again this weekend. They are co-favorites for the team title this weekend. Or will one of the top Class A schools win? Portland is a big question mark here and they hope to show they are true contenders. Or will Houlton shock the state and win the team title?
Week 2 Rankings (Posted 9/18/25)
Freeport was the top Maine team at SMC and takes the top spot in the rankings. However, Yarmouth was missing some key runners and they remain in the mix for a claim as the state's best team. Houlton has been dominant up North and looks untouchable in Class C. Hampden Academy was able to avenge last week's loss to Bangor, and Class A looks wide open with 5-6 teams having a chance at the title this year.
Week 1 Rankings (Posted 9/11/25)
Bangor knocked off preseason favorite Hampden Academy to take the #1 spot this week. Yarmouth looks very strong after a dominant win over Freeport and were clearly underrated to start the season. Gorham nearly posted a perfect score at their season opening meet and showed that they are true contenders in Class A. Houlton won easily at Ellsworth and showed some depth, which was a concern for them entering the season. Thornton Academy entered the season unranked but beat Falmouth to show they could be a top team in the SMAA. Similarly, Bonny Eagle and Sanford have had some new additions and improvements that have propelled them high up the rankings.
Deering is currently missing Ellis Wood due to injury, which hurts them greatly. Caribou had a dissapointing finish at Ellsworth and will look to rebound in the meets ahead. Similarly, Mt. Blue and York have improvements to make if they are to meet expectations for the season.
