Week 5 Rankings (Posted 10/6/25)
After FOC, we finally have clear favorites for each Class. Nora Schmidt pulled away early, dominating the field and solidifying herself as the prohibitive favorite in Class A. In Class B, defending champ Zoe Carroll was the top finisher, and she now looks poised to repeat her individual title run from last year. In Class C, Orono had the top two finishers with Maya Boyington crossing the line first for the Red Riots.
All this being said, it was a crazy day in Belfast and others remain in the mix. Georgia Moon contnued her impressive streak, barely outkicking Carroll for 2nd place overall and putting herself in prime position if Schmidt falters. Karen Higgins undefeated streak ended, but she still had a strong showing and she should not be counted out either. Rowan Barry and Laurel Driscoll both had off days but have shown the potential to win big races so both remain higher in the rankings than their finish on Saturday. None of the trio of Alexander, Fox, and Wentworth the bottom of the rankings were able to finish on Saturday (Fox a DNS and Alexander and Wentworth a DNF), but all could rebound in the future.
Week 4 Rankings (Posted 9/29/25)
Two more weeks of action in the books and Karen Higgins has taken back the #1 spot. She remains undefeated and has won by large margins all season. After a narrow loss in the preseason, Nora Schmidt has been dominant and rises to #2. Paige Alexander won her debut at Twin Brook last Saturday and reenters the rankings.
Week 2 Rankings (Posted 9/15/25)
14 of our top 21 ranked athletes ran at the Southern Maine Classic, and Rowan Barry picked up the win to move up to #1 in the state. Higgins and Carroll both have a claim at the top spot, though, as Higgins won by two and a half minutes and has yet to be challenged, and Carroll debuted her season with a strong 18:09 at the Nashua North Invite in New Hampshire. Maya Boyington also picked up a win in her debut and rejoined the rankings. Abigail Gilley takes the final spot after winning the Freshman-Sophomore race at the Southern Maine Classic.
Week 1 Rankings (Posted 9/8/25)
Karen Higgins rises to #1 after two dominant wins to start the season, but Barry has an argument for the #1 spot as well after running the fastest 5K in the state so far this year. Nora Schmidt and Laurel Driscoll have traded wins to start of the season, with Laurel winning the SMAA Relays and Nora winning the SMAA meet at Sanford. Addison Elliott, Georgia Moon, Allie Schmitt, and Clara White all got wins last week, solidifying their spot in the top 10. Zoe Carroll, Soren Stark-Chessa, and Paige Alexander all moved down since all are yet to make their debut.
