Yarmouth delivered a win against a tough out of state field and is looking like a borderline lock to win Class B this year. Portland also looked very strong at this meet and has plenty of options to round out their scoring five. Class C looks very interesting here, with Winthrop and Houlton in a dead heat in this meet, with both missing one potential scorer.
Week 2 Rankings (Posted 9/17/26)
Yarmouth confirmed their #1 ranking at the Southern Maine Classic, winning against a field that had 7 of the top 10 ranked teams in it. Not much movement this week, though, as all teams performed about as expected. The one big change was last year's Class A champs Hampden Academy, fall out of the top 10 due to Jack Scott not running this season.
Week 1 Rankings (Posted 9/10/26)
No huge surprises after the first week of regular season action. The big risers are Thornton Academy, Winthrop, and Falmouth, who all have new contributors that have made an immediate impact. Some teams, like Hampden Academy and Sanford, have not yet seen their top runners compete, but we rank them here assuming those runners will enter the lineup soon. If they don't soon, expect those teams to drop in the rankings.
Yarmouth and Houlton have mantained their strong favorite status in B and C. In A, however, things are even more jumbled at the top than we thought.
